Royal Ark Mariners... an introductory letter from the PGM

Dear newly advanced Brother Mark Master Mason, On behalf of your brethren in the Mark Province of Dyfed I am delighted to welcome you into this degree which is well known as “the friendly degree” and hope that you will have many happy years within our order.

Duringthe ceremony of advancement you will have received your “mark” as a Mark Master Mason, and taken your fourth regular step in Freemasonry.

Your progress now entitles you to consider membership of The Ancient and Honourable Fraternity of Royal Ark Mariners, rightly considered one of the most beautiful degrees in Freemasonry.

This ancient degree, first worked in 1790, is only confirmed upon Mark Master Masons and builds upon the ceremony of initiation into freemasonry, which leads you to consider your first step in masonry as a new start, or a new outlook onto life.

The Royal Ark Mariner Ritual is based upon the familiar story of Noah building the Ark to preserve mankind from the great flood.

Royal Ark Mariners are easily identifiable, they wear an attractive breast jewel with the colours of the rainbow in the ribbon and a symbolic rainbow and dove carrying an olive branch.

Each Royal Ark Mariner Lodge is attached to a Mark Lodge and bears the same number.

Membership will therefore provide an opportunity to further develop those friendships you will build up within the Mark Degree. Both degrees are under the Provincial Grand Lodge of Dyfed, also both are administered by the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons.

During your future progression within the Provincial Grand Lodge of Dyfed you will appreciate the important links between these two orders and progession to higher offices such as Provincial Grand Warden does depend on membership of the two degrees.

Members of the Mark Degree and the Fraternity of Royal Ark Mariners are very approachable and will be pleased to provide you with further information and guidance.

Please give careful consideration to extending your Masonic knowledge by becoming a member of that wonderful degree.

Royal Ark Mariner Provincial Grand Rank 2019

At the Annual Provincial RAM Assembly on the 14th June 201,
the Provincial Grand Master was pleased to award Provincial Grand Rank
to four hard working members of the Province -

W Brethren Wynford Allen, Evan Wynne Davies, Robert Victor Johns and Gareth Jones.

We congratulate them all.
